So I ended up ordering a bike over the weekend. I’ll most likely be in the saddle this weekend. Any suggestions on beginner-ish trails I should do the maiden voyage? I pretty much live on mission trails so that May be the go to.

Anyways I’m excited as hell to finally get back on dirt.

Will do for sure. Just trying to make a decision on where to ride first. Thinking of maybe seeing if I can handle the climb and descent of Mesa/big rock or going up to poway and riding Martha’s grove. Or explore PQ cause I’ve never ridden there before. Or check out mission trails western side

PQ could be a great break-in ride if you start at the bottom and ride up. You get some climbing, but nothing too steep or brutal.

I’ve never been to PQ where would be the best place to start at the bottom?

Anything but Mission Trails....as I always say "Just because you're riding on dirt doesn't make it mountain biking". It's supposed to rain Thursday & Friday according to the morning news so it may be muddy...or it just may be hero dirt if you choose wisely.

Lol everyday I drive home east on the 52 and I see what looks like nice trails going up the hill towards santee. It looks nice but I’ve never seen it up close. I’m thinking going easy since I don’t know how I’ll do since I haven’t done mtb in about 9 years but I absolutely loved doing the big rock/Mesa trail on my hardtail cause of the challenge the rocky sections gave me. I’ll be on a full suspension this time around so maybe I should try it. The rain does kinda suck but maybe I’ll get lucky hahah

Start here:

Take the fireroad under the road and head north east on the south east side of the canyon up past the waterfall and then cross to the North West side to ride the single track back for a simple loop. Plenty of side canyons and things to try out once you have your legs back.

Hahah I might go to mission trails tomorrow to see where I’m at as far as climbing hills. There’s a beginner ride at sweetwater on sat. So I’m thinking that for Saturday so I can find people around my skill level

@Dirtrider i now know why you call it missing trails. i started at the jackson parking lot today. lol while i really liked the river crossing the rest from there was HELL. i did the suycott trail which was the only singletrack i hit and was too short followed by more hellish climbing lol. most of what i did today was just too steep haha.

Ha, at least two good things happened. The first is you got to ride the new bike and second, you have a huge ass smile on your face. All good brother
