We ran into their practice day two weekends ago. Let's just say it was a buzzkill.

Well. good timing for me: I'll have 18 Scouts backpacking PCT and BLT for a shakedown. With a big race going on, we probably won't have our annual random meetup with Aquaholic at the Noble Trailhead faucet. Nertz.

We're going to give it a try anyway. Since they start today (friday) at 0600, it shouldn't be too bad by the time we get there tomorrow at 0830. They come thru BLT at mile 48'ish and since the final finisher came in at the 31 hour mark last year, they will definitely be long past mile 48 at the 26 hour mark.

We had planned on going to Idyllwild but they are having their MTB Festival this weekend and didn't want to deal with that.

I was up there last year and it wasn't a problem at all. Just like any other sunny SD day in the hills.

OT: This looks like the road going down to Hwy 8

As stated by Dirtrider, it turned out to be a complete non-issue. On the other hand, the new PC version of Indian Guides was out there in force. There were multiple packs of 25-30 humans per group all spread out. One of the groups was biking and pulled over for them even though we were on a small climb. Its was great to see 6-8 year olds out there riding with a big smile on their face.
