Howdy strangers, check out this article on a buddy of mine who restores vintage mountain bikes.

Also, injury update for those that may be curious: I have what is embarrassingly known as golfer's elbow (I prefer to call it Grizzly Bear Wraslin' Elbow). This is a partial tear of a ligament in the elbow as a side effect of way too much time spent dominating in life. Yes, I know many of you are familiar. The prescription for it is to do nothing but sit on my ass and get fat and OMFG do not under any circumstances have any fun that involves grabbing things with my right hand (why hello there stranger!). Bad news is that includes MTB. Good news is that I can still do 12 to 16 oz. curls. At this point, I'm hoping to be back riding with you all by summertime. In the short term, I hope to at least find some time to meet up for post-ride beers on occasion.

Hope you are all well, or at least marginally better than me.
- Mike

Thanks for posting it up and I hope you heal quick and correctly.
You started to have my interest at sit on your ass and get fat but that having no fun part was the deal breaker
Look at the bright side. You can still lift up a cold one

Heal up fast, and do stop by for post-ride beers. That was a good article, and I hope everyone clicked on through to your friend's website where the real gold is.

Fond memories pass of exploring trails in the 80's in Socal on cromollies. I missed those days of youth and natural - less traveled trails but not the bikes nor the limited domestic crappy beers in a can.

Get well soon!

Hi Mike, I've had that same elbow tendonitis for a couple of years. Left arm was hurt doing guitar bar chords, and right hand from general life. I tried pills, and special exercise things. The only significant change that helped was swapping out my mechanical bb7 brakes for hydraulic.

I'm fully in the fuck-it camp. Some days it hurts. Other days it hurts a lot. Fuck it all and I get on with my life. I just put in a new tile floor in my kitchen, and mixing the thinset and troweling hurt a bunch. But fuck-it, I got it done. Pain just tells you to slow down, not stop.
