I'd like to see a similar side by side comparison of HR and Watts expended over the course of similar trails. Comments made earlier mentioned riding bikes to get away from a certain demographic of riders, fitness will always be the trump card, so you will still be able to ride further and longer than the saw wielding newbs to the sport. I understand the discourse, but after riding one, I know first hand how similar of an experience it is...just as, if not more, fun. Like, kid fun.....

“Then, coming towards them down the street, was a boy about Calvin’s age riding a machine that was something like a combination of bicycle and motorcycle. It had the slimness and lightness of a bicycle, and yet as the foot pedals turned they seemed to generate an unseen source of power, so that the boy could pedal very slowly and yet move along the street quite swiftly.”

I heard a speech today that referred to A wrinkle in Time favorably. And I heard the movie just came out and is showing in SD beginning tonight. It's on the list now.

^^^ I was reading the book aloud to my grandson about an hour ago when that passage appeared. It was one of my favorite books. Almost don’t want to see the movie, because they often don’t live up to the book, or rather, to one’s imagination.

[edit: okay, just watched the trailer, it looks pretty good]

Took the rigid wagonwheel out today. So pure on the groomed manicured trails.
I almost want a 29" long travel trail bike. It's cheating.

I can see the upgrade cycle on these dang things for many will be similar to those wackos who covet the latest release of a new iPhone, but instead of new features, it will just be 2 lbs at a time.

Orbea new E Bike even has powered WALK mode, because when you can't ride it, it's so heavy it needs to help itself...

Or potential buyers might keep delaying a purchase untill that sub-35 lb., ebike finally comes along.
