Under the skin – aka "Nemesis"

In case anyone is wondering, this is what they're discussing (photo of Cala Reaper by gabekeating posted in the POD not long ago). And as is often the case with photos, it is steeper than it looks here. It is hard to even walk down...

(Edit: wrong pic, just that steep and no more, keep reading, nothing to see here...)

actually, that is a different area. That section faces North and is 1/2 way up when you're climbing up the Volcano. The one I'm referencing is on the Southwest side.

It's not as photogenic as the pic above, but I think the degree of difficulty/ass-pucker may be greater. Case in point; I bit a hole in my chamois..... :shock:

^^^ Well dang, post a picture then...of the rock section, not the hole in yer shorts pleez. And yeah, you're right -- thats the easier one on the main trail that even I have ridden, not the shorter much steeper chute we are both talking about. Doesn't face north though. They both face south or southwest. We need pix...Gabe...?!

I tried taking some pics, but I'm not good and they did not look exciting in the least.

^^^ Yeah, that's it. I can't find any photos of the "nemesis chute", and taking one means I'd have to climb that hill again...

Yeah, two really tricky parts on that face. The setup for the left turn and the drop after you make that left turn towards the lower chute. I was gonna gopro a second attempt but that's feeding the armchair quarterbacks here who don't believe it's rideable because they can't get over the first rock drop on flow trail. Ha!

Speaking of yesterday, you missed dickface's yardsale (plural - yardsales) up at 3 sisters and that rocky trail below it. Dude may have forgotten he's now on a full blown xc hardtail bike with a SID XC fork. The bike is ok, though.

12 yo Gavin said he wouldn't hit this roller.....uhm, he doesn't know us well enough and our power of persuasion.

That's the one! Yeah, I have to figure out a way to take pics that somehow show how steep things really are. .....Or I can just ride with Gabe and he'll figure it out for me. :lol:

Once again, the pic does not do justice to level of 'hairball' this feature really is. Go Gabe!

I rode right off that bridge in front of a troop of Girl Scouts a few years ago.

Fortunately, I landed in the creek with both wheels touching down simultaneously, and was able to peddle to and up the bank. "I did that just for you guys". They thought that was pretty funny. Smart kids.
