Hey guys, been awhile. This Father's Day I'm going up to Santa Barbara. It has been awhile since I have been up there and my fitness is not what it used to be so I'm looking for advice on shuttle rides up there. Any comments and advice is welcome. I'm not against climbing, just trying to balance time with family and friends and time on the bike.

Tunnel, San Ysidro, Cold Spring, Romero roughly in order of most to least difficult are the main shuttleable trails. You can also hit Jesusita with a short climb from Tunnel. Bring a bear bell, they are mandatory due to hiker traffic - expect TONS of hikers in the mornings. Sunset descent might be less traffic. Romero is a pretty good one to climb as its part dirt road then singletrack. Tunnel is paved road to the top, which you would also use to get to the other two trails. There are a few other shuttleable trails on the back side of the ridge but they will be getting very hot.

I did san ysidro last time I was there and it was pretty good. Only really hit hikers at the lower sections.

Tunnel trail would be fun as I was hoping to last time but got stood up by a local who was going to ride with me. I didn't want to do that one alone.

One of the days we are gonna do dirt jumpers at river bend bike park. That should be a lot of fun.

Favorite Trails: crooked & winding...
You might also consider Camuesa Connector trail on the other side. Not a DH shuttle but it's a fun trail and the fire road climb to access it is not real bad. Family and friends might like to hike or picnic along the river while you ride.
