Planning a trip to the Idyllwild area and was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on the 2 main trail systems up there. Do you prefer the HUB trails or Hurkey Creek trails, and why?

Cheers!

HUB. I've asked the same question of a number of regulars. They all have said Hub.

The trail design is similar to SCST. The riding is slowish with A LOT of winding corners.

I was just up there this weekend. The HUB trails are pretty awesome. Lots of twisty turny sections, plenty of rock features all which roll pretty well with the correct line. Its alot of climbing though. Most of the trails you can do in both directions. I recommend the HUB Cyclery shop ride on Saturday at 9am. You will get a workout in!

HUB, plus I am not sure if Hurkey is fully open yet. Last time I was at Hurkey, lots of stuff was closed from fire damage.

Hurkey is still mostly closed and a lot of trails don't even exist anymore after the fire. At this point its barely an option.
