Deer Canyon to T4 was flagged today, orange tape. Am assuming was Arch route.

The new orange tape is indeed the Arch course. Flagging took place this week.

So how good is the flagging they do? I have a good rough idea of where it goes, but I've never ridden the route and doing a more or less unknown 50 miler just following some flags on trees seems a little sketchy lol.

The flagging is done well. There have been times when the flags have been removed by NIMBY locals.

You can ask for specifics the morning of registration.

You should have plenty of company that morning all going the same way.

The flagging was done okay. One section towards elfin quite a few people I guess took the "Old" route and then had to loop back to the section off the road. One arrow on the road would have been nice. Not knowing any of the route and all the trails being new to me but BM and PQ I just followed the pack and it was pretty easy. One thing the flags could be a bit bigger. My squinty eyes missed a few.

At the deer canyon section, I think someone moved the flag lower to indicate you have to go up cardiac hill. I passed about 15 people watching 5 people go up that hill, where I went straight into deer canyon to t4 and people followed. Then you could see the flags so I knew I was going in the right direction.

Overall it was a perfect day riding. The light sprinkle in the morning was great! I know it was a "shorter" ride but still fun. Thanks to everyone who volunteered and helped out flagging etc.
