There is a guy on PinkBike and MTBR that has a listing for a very clean, all decked out 2015 SB6C up in Newport beach for $5500. It's a killer deal if you like his color choices.

It's the yeti Blue frame with X01 1x11, Float X shock, Fox 36 fork and already has Derby carbons with Chris King hubs. That bike would cost you $8500+ to build from scratch.

Wow, look at you guys... rushing off to give suggestions without the over-analysis of multiple spreadsheets!

Perhaps it would be better for Harley to answer this question first... what is it about your current bike that you don't like?

Don't be ridiculous. Harley's opinion has little bearing in this poll (sorry mate!). His opinion would surely be duly ignored as we all pontificate about this or that bike and inject our own opinions despite the riders wants and needs. Sheeeesh!

Please carry on.

A_Street; might you be revealing a 29er? Perhaps one where you'd have to know "good" before you could know "ev.."... ...er...sorry. I don't want to spoil the surprise. I might have to face a reckoning otherwise.

I just want a new bike, nothing wrong with
the Nomad.
Maybe I should just keep it.

You guys made this way too confusing...........................

I ordered a Canfield riot frame. Had to be realistic with the wreckoning and its intentions since it would be my go to trail bike for everything. The riot has a little more conservative geometry and will be a better all rounder.... So I speculate, since it hasn't been built yet and I haven't ridden either bike.

Interesting and unexpected. Looking forward to a new thread with the build and your review.

i figured you may say this after all those text conversations we had about your current trail shredder.

I will tell you exactly why I veered off the wreckoning path.

I was stoked that I got a new bike fund recently unexpected and I was strongly considering the wreckoning because I knew I wanted an aggressive 29er. The simple reason is that I wanted something different than my nomad and I dont think the 27.5 thing is really something to write home about and I feel some of the new "enduro" geometry numbers are to much. Like, what the hell is the Demo 8 in my garage for if I get one of those new "enduro" machines?!

Anyways, I had my spreadsheet all set up with a few different bikes. Some I wanted and some I really didnt, but they were being considered for what they were and geometry numbers they had. followed the banter on mtbr, was stoked and asked questions that I had to evil directly. I talked with Fanatik about the wreckoning, they raved and compared climbing to the new nomad... on fireroads. Then the release happened and fanatik did the comparison between the wreckoning and insurgent and that is what turned me off. The video was good, but how they described the bike and how it rode did not sound like how I want to ride a bike.

I remembered Salespunk had made some comments about the enduro 29 and how it was an ok bike, it just kinda made riding not as fun as something more lively. This is kinda how the wreckoning sounded to me.

I revisited my spreadsheet and the riot checked all the boxes for the most part and was more conservative than the wreckoning but according to user reviews it was an extremely capable bike that would be good up and really be good down.

Then Luke Strobel's video came out on vitalmtb with him riding the wreckoning. He ripped. The biked looked great in straight lines, jumping, plowing roots. The part that I really took home was a couple of parts where the trail slowed down with S turns and the bike looked cumbersome in that situation.

That small portion of the video was kinda what made me realize that I had made the right decision with the bike I chose.... without riding it. haha

Its tough to find demos for the smaller companies.

I would have to add the Santa Cruz HighTower to the list. Aggresive 29er with option to run 27.5+, or vice versa.

http://www.bikemag.com/gear/first-look- ... FkMdJfA.97

Knowing Harley, I would say the 27.5+ would be the first choice, but no matter what I'd wait until it can be had with the new SRAM EAGLE Groupset, 1x12 with a 50 tooth ring, no more "Is that a 42?" Hell no it's a fiddy!!!!!!!!!!!

 Exactly how I'm feeling about the Santa Cruz 5010 so far. It's a nice bike, climbs especially well but it's "all business" and "efficient" rather than fun, lively and twitchy which is what I liked about the Yeti SB5C. That will be my next bike when they release the internal cable routing and Boost spacing. Not because I care about Boost from a performance standpoint but the 5010 is Boost so all the parts will transfer over.

A_Street; it sounds like you made a great choice for yourself with that bike. I suppose I overlooked that one from Harley's selection. I figured the combo of aluminum and 29er would not be considered.

Harley, you did plug all your candidates into a spreadsheet to analyze pros/cons and details of all your choices, right?..... :)
