I'll be tracking a guy from work who is making his third attempt at a long endurance event, having previously DNF'ed at 120 and 150 miles. Sheesh. I love his attitude, and will have to steal his comment for future use: "I won't be in the lead pack heck I might not even be midpack this time. At least I will be lapping everybody on the couch".

He recently bought a Rocky Mountain Sherpa for endurance and bikepacking, and I got a good look at it today. That unique paint job is as beautiful as the magazine reviews said!

I'll be watching the little dots on the trackleaders once again and wishing I was there. This ride is on my bucket list. If I attempted it, I would be on the 2 weeks pace, well outside the 5-day time limit.

That insane little voice in the back of my head keeps telling me "next year". It's been saying that for 4 years now...

Day 1 today. That nasty afternoon squall did some damage to the pack. A few have dropped due to hypothermia and mud induced mechanicals. The smart ones holed up in cabins at lake henshaw. The leader is approaching lake hodges dam as I type. Exciting race this year.
