If you guys haven't seen this website, you should go check it out. I mainly peruse the photos and "Best of" trails ratings section but the website as a whole is very well done with super sharp graphics. I rellay like that the photos *generally* depict everyday riders like 98% of us who just enjoy getting outside to ride with friends and soak up the fresh air. Most of the photos are scenery based and make me realize that there are Epic trails all over and I have no chance of getting to most of them

For what its worth, they have a great iframe widget for embedding their content (Maps, trail bios etc) on other websites. This forum doesn't allow javascript widgets (I tried) so I will just post a link to their widget page for examples.

Not to mention that these guys are partnered with IMBA. That works well for us since we are an imba charter (Southern Nevada Mountain Bike Assoc.)

I am admittedly something of a Luddite. No cyclocomputers, GoPro, or GPS for me. If I need a map, I prefer a waterproof topo in my hand. The battery will not fail. However, last year I did download the MTB Project app, and have been using it to take a look at trails I might be interested in. I had not actually used it "live" until last week, when I found myself alone on unfamiliar trails out of state. I had snapped a photo of the trailhead map as a reference, but that doesn't help much if you don't know where you are on the map. I opened the app and that little blue dot pinpointing my location was pretty reassuring as the clouds rolled in and it began raining. This is a pretty outstanding resource for a road trip, especially if you haven't really decided where you'll be riding. The database is being constantly updated, and there's no Stravassholiness involved. Two thumbs up for MTBProject!

We used it in the same fashion last year on the Palm Canyon Epic....that last 10% of the ride known as the Goat Trails gets us every time.

I used MTB project last winter in Tucson. Not only did it help me navigate the trails it actually showed us the route from our hotel to the trailhead.
