You all are missing of obvious punch line here...

"What did the doctor say?"

"Doc says...

..'you're gonna die'"

I dunno if they have a different antivenin for them, but Mojave Greens have a slightly different venom from other rattlers.
They have a neurotoxin element in their venom.

might be a gopher, if that be the bitey end.

but if that be the arse end, and it looks to be, i'd call it a rattler.

You could also tease it with anything that looks like a worm or other food..

As BB stated above:

"What did the doctor say?"

"Doc says...

..'you're gonna die'"

It's disappointing to find out that sucking the poison out does no good. I suppose there are no longer any good excuses to get bitten on the d1ck. :ninja:

Considering that I have done quite a bit of solo riding while traveling I have invested in a Delorme InReach. It's a GPS enabled two-way satellite communicator/texter that has a SOS feature. You can send and receive texts to phones and email accounts from anywhere on the planet where there is satellite coverage (Cool convenience). If you end up in the trouble you can activate the SOS feature and text back and forth with an emergency response center while they figure out wither you need extraction or not. If you activate the SOS feature and don't respond to any of the text, they will send folks to your GPS location. The unit is a bit pricey but cheaper than an full-blown satellite phone. Monthly rates varies but start as little as $15/month and you have the option to suspend your account during months when you know you will not need it. They also offer extraction insurance should you get farcked up and have to be airlifted out of nowhere. I hope I never have to use the full breath of its features but it good to know that if I end up in an immobile extremis situation in some place without cell coverage, I may not be completely screwed. http://www.inreachdelorme.com/

I don't think the statement about there being only one type of antivenin is true. A neighbor had a dog that got bit in their back yard. They rushed it to the vet which started prepping the antivenin (taking it out of the freezer and thawing it). When they described the snake, the doc had to get a different type of antivenin out of the freezer, and the kicker is he charged them for both of them even though one didn't get used. As soon as they take it out of the freezer, apparently you own it.

My Question is , walk or ride out? Should i ride on the flats to get out faster?

As Previous poster points out, you would want Crofab if bitten by the Mojave Green. Might be good to get a pic of the snake. Not sure if I would remember enough detail.
