A friend wants to ride BLT New Year's day - does anybody know how it's doing? Mud, snow, relatively OK? I'm cool with chilly, but don't really want a mudfest ...

From what I heard last, there was still snow up there. But it was quite warm today. If its the same the next few days the weather up there will prolly just be a little chilly at worst. As far as trail/mud conditions I don't know.

Favorite Trails: The one under my wheels
I was up there last Friday, the 26th. There was not much in Julian, but once I got to Laguna, there was still a foot of snow and lots of ice on top. The weather reports show 50 to 60 degrees all this week, so most of it should melt by tomorrow. Lower areas around the Lake will be fine..might have some patchy snow in the upper areas near los gatos,chico ravine, wooded hill ect. I would go for it! I'll be up there tomorrow as well...but working on my cabin, not ridin'! Bummer! Good Luck and Happy New Year to all.
