As of late I have been having a heck of a time getting my tubeless front tire to hold any air. Had a long string of slow leaks, bad valves and so on. It finally got to the point that my tubeless tire was also airless! I put on new rim tape and a new valve, no luck. Went to another shop and they sold me a Stan's rubber rim tape with a built in valve. NO luck, it would not seat properly...

I took my rim with the rubber strip on it and my tire into Bike Bling and asked them for help. The two guys working in the mechanics area took care of it in a matter of minutes. In less than about 5 or 10 minutes they had a new valve and re-taped the rim (no charge for labor) and I was on my way. They offered to put the tire on and air it up also, but I had to go.

Also talked to one guy about some new tires and he gave me some really good advice and info, without the salesman attitude, and seemed happy to do it!

Agreed, I was there yesterday looking for some stuff for myself and picking up something for Took. All the guys were super cool, helpful, and had no attitude what so ever. Kerry was working in the back and recognized me and thanked me for coming and checking the new shop. Considering that I live in Chula Vista, that meant a lot. I will definitely go back.

Wheres bike bling? Have any of you heard of beyond bikes near ted williams? It's pretty sweet, a lot of DH bikes and a nice DH accessory selection. The guys that I talked with were super cool, we didn't talk about merch at all only riding. We actually watched a video in store and just had a good talk about how both of us had only begun riding this past year.

Anyways they blow the warehouse out of the water IMO. They were nice, they knew what they were talking about(DH wise), and they just seem more like a family. I know where I'll be getting my bike one day. Also it's the only place in town that sells Transition bikes which I'm in love with. Peace

You are the ONE customer they were cool with, they got thier qouta for the month.

BTW I need to go to make a trip to BikeBling, they have the best price for Nevegal UST tires that I have found so far.

In regards to Behind bikes, I have a total opposite view and I have promised myself not to ever go there, mention their names or call them, and I have been sticking to my promise for the last past 5 years.

Have to agree with Schleppp and Sykes. Great shop. I had a chance to stop in there today and wow. So much Bling!!!!! Santa Cruz, Intense, Hope parts, King Parts, etc.... They have an Intense Tracer VP That I would give my left xxx for. From what I understand The boss came from Beyond Bikes. Customer Service was great. Even though they are a little far (Escondido) I would recommend a visit.

I was in Bike Bling one day looking at new brakes. The owner was very helpful and set me up with new Mavic rims and Avid Elixr(sp) brakes and installed everything in about 40 minutes. Great customer service.

Agreed. Got great service and a good price on a top-of-the-line Giro MTB helmet for my son at Bike Bling The owner gave me a discounted price because I asked for it, even though it was obvious no other helmet would fit and I was going to buy it. I liked that. I will go back. (yeah, the kid's helmet is way nicer than mine -- his head is so big -- went to several other shops first, but nothing else came in a big enough size -- when he was born, it was emergency C-section time, no way that head was fitting thru there).

Thanks to all for the info on Bike Bling. I have been thinking about checking that place out. I will for sure now.

As for Beyond Bikes .... it's tough for me not to go there because they are right down the street and they price match just about anything I have asked them to. However, they treat my buddy like crap and he bought his bike there! My same friend had a problem with his new mallet pedals and Beyond said they would send them back to crank brothers for him. Instead, they lost them, and said they would try to find them for him. Eventually they did and they came back fixed, but during that entire situation Beyond never even called him. He had to call them like three times to light the fire under thier asses. Piss poor customer service I suppose is the point of this rambling paragraph.

FP, we should head up to Bike Bling to check it out. I need to get a fresh dose of bike porn.

Overall, I agree about Beyond Bikes. I have never heard anything good about them, until the post above. Their one bright spot is Zach, he is nice, very helpful and pretty cool. I buy quite a few things from them because they are very near my house and they are cheap. I would never let them even glance at my bike though, I make the drive to North Of The Border Bikes for that. Mike is an awesome mechanic!

I live in Valley Center so I was stoked when BikeBling opened in Esco. I have been in there at least half a dozen times and Kerry has hooked me up each time - the prices are comparable to Beyond. Regarding Beyond Bikes, I've been purchasing from there for the past five years and always received excellent prices and as mentioned above, Zach is "da Man" - he's totally cool. As far as service (mechanic), I've only had one thing done - bearings relaced in front hub - and that took 3 weeks after numerous phone calls - unacceptable! Moral of my story: buying product there is great, but seek mechanic services elsewhere.
