Really kicking myself for not having a camera this afternoon, near Sycamore canyon.

I spooked a huge hawk that flew off a ways but perched atop a bush and glared at me.

A half mile later I saw 3 adult deer run up a hillside about 50 yards away from me -- followed off to the side by a smallish coyote. I have no idea what business s/he had stalking those deer, if that in fact is what was going on. Maybe there was a young deer I couldn't see.

I also saw numerous hornets and an osprey, although they were the USMC variety.

Rode MTRP until dark tonight and on the way in there were Terrantulas crawling around. No pictures this time, but it was cool seeing them.

Hucking it??? Only if you want a "Go straight to jail" card. Endangered species. No touchy the torty!

I believe that in the context of "hucking" for that statement, no harm would come to it, unless they were looking to make some turtle soup.

Rare lunchtime ride up Sycamore cyn from Santee.

I bunny-hopped a baby rattler -- and I mean baby -- near the water treatment plant. The little guy wasn't more than 10" long and the diameter of a #2 pencil.

I know I'll lose man points for this, but I thought it was kinda cute, almost huggable.

I've been seeing lots of millipedes on night rides out in Spring lately, but tonight it was kangarats (which sound and feel like an egg when you're unlucky enough to run one over).
