I've seen that happen a couple of times in my neighborhood. Poor tarantula being dragged into the wasp den.

No photos because things happen too fast but yesterday while riding in the park here in Whistler, I saw a mama bear with two cubs and then later, a deer stepped out on to the trail right in front of me while I was heading down a run called Angry Pirate. It was about 5 feet away from me when it popped on to the trail and then just walked right off like I wasn't even there. I guess they are used to mountain bikers.

They're a few weeks early. Must be the swinger-tarantulas.

One year, camping in Borrego in October, my campsite in Blair Valley musta been plopped smack down in the middle of the Tarantula Mating Highway. They were coming through in the evenings like commuter traffic.
The longest line was 8 spiders long. It got to where you had to watch where you stepped in that campsite.
