So it turns out I have an appointment that I can't cancel in the afternoon. What that means is I can't do all the stops and sessioning and picture taking from Sling's original Farewell Ride.

So, I am creating a 2nd group for those that still want to attend, but prefer not to take too many breaks or need to be finished with the ride early.

Times and Meeting Spot:
- Meet at the lower lot around 8:00am to figure out shuttle logistics. Lower Lot

- Lock and load and shuttle to the top no later than 8:30am (if everything is ready earlier, we'll leave earlier).

- Be sure to bring all appropriate tools, hydration, and clothing!!

Be Prepared:
- Be prepared if you have a mechanical. With a large group, there is a slim chance you'll be alone, but don't take the chance of having to hold up the group!

- It may be cold up top, so bring appropriate gear! Be sure you can peel those layers off should it start warming up.

What's in the cards:
- At this time, we ARE doing Los Gatos, Noble, AND Extra Credit. This means mileage! Be prepared with hydration. I suggest nothing less than 100oz. Also ensure you bring snacks, energy bars, and a sandwich for lunch. PB&J is a popular choice.

- Please note that while this is a shuttle, there is still a decent amount of climbing involved. I don't suggest a DH bike... unless you're a bit of a masochist. A 4in. travel XC bike or a 6in AM bike would be appropriate.

- Pace will be somewhat quick (keep in mind, I'm coming off a back injury). Breaks will be minimal. We'll likely be stopping at the usual spots for a short break. Sessioning and pictures will also likely be minimal. This ride is specifically for your bad "I need to keep moving and rush through this ride" attitude.

I would love to do the social pace, shoot-the-shit, let's take a bunch of pictures of everyone, and then enjoy some food at Alpine Beer Company, but I just can't this Saturday, but I still want to at least start the ride with everyone.

Let me know if any of you are in for this.

I definitely need to be back well before 3pm, so this is the ride to join.

I'm sure most people will be doing the social paced ride. It'll be more fun. This ride is for those that want to at least start in on the fun, but know they have to be back home by a certain time.

Since we all know that maybe for you means "not a chance at this dude showing up", we should all just cut the BS and say farewell now. :hello:

I will be there at 9am with a crew from LA/OC. Hope to see you guys there.

Does anyone have a Garmin link or something similar or directions for Los Gatos? We might want to check that out as well. Thanks.

I'll ride with you. I'm down for a more aggressive paced ride.

Wish I could roll... have fun guys... stay safe... There is still snow up there by wooded hill so the gate to the parking will probably be closed...

Just an FYI on this: It will be agressively paced on the descents... but the climbs will still be snail-paced. I can't help it... I'm slow...

I thought all this warm weather would have melted the snow by now. If the gate is shut, where do you park?

Well as of last night there was still snow/slush up there. If the gate is close you can park along the road leading up to the gate. Don't park along sunrise, thats a ticket. Just be careful of your parking, it will be pretty muddy and you can get suck.

It's all good. The part I'm loving the most is the constant movement. I love taking pictures and sessioning as much as the next guy but... well probably not as much as the next guy! 8)
