Not sure how fast this is really going to be, but I hear there is some painful climbing involved. Meet at East Mesa fireroad trailhead. Any takers?

This could be hands down the host difficult climb I have even done. It turned out to be a long hike pushing a bike up Oriflamme. This was not an SS friendly climb but oh well. Overall this route rocks! Lots of FR but I don't care. I can see why the Stone guys train on this route.

I did have a nasty crash bombing down the fire road. I jumped a rut at full speed and next thing you know I am skidding on my back, I slid for 10 feet before coming to a stop.

If anyone ever wants to ride this let me know.

Great ride today. Still toast, but happy we did it. I have just a few pics as I was busy trying to keep up with Eric
Image

We saw deer a few times and Eric kept telling me about coyotes he'd seen, but I was just to slow for them. The only 'wildlife' that would pose for me was this

Image

some proof that we really were at Oriflamme Canyon - just before start of singlespeed-hell.

and one pic close to the end.

When we came back to the cars, we were so beat up that we actually didn't speak for some 5 minutes or so (even Eric :) )

If anybody wants to do this ride, let me know. Would prefer to go down Oriflamme though :)

Alright Eric, Christian and Phil, it's official we are doing this ride again in 2 months.

Lets shoot for doing it in a month, this wouldn't be too lofty of a goal (I am fairly out of shape myself and I am naturally slow)
