Looks like I found a group to ride with. Meet 530 at the Canyonside Park.
32.940996,-117.135416

***This is a group I haven't ridden with before, but I am told that it is a drop ride at race pace without many regroups.***

Not sure on how big the group is or if new riders will be welcome to join, but I was told the following:
"Don't chat until the end of the ride and if you get dropped you are on your own. Bring lights, all other items you would need if riding by yourself and be prepared to ride for 2 hours."

Sounds perfect in my opinion. :)

so its a group ride where no one can talk with each other and where you may or may not ride with anyone depending on how fast you are? I guess that actually sounds a lot like all the solo rides I do just with more people and a less flexible start and end time

Yep. There are only a few people I ride with that think racing is actually fun. Even less think racing for 50+ miles or 4+ hours is fun. I know I am a minority, but it gets boring every week trying to virtually race up certain climbs and check Strava afterward to see how you did. Its much more fun to spur on others to ride faster in real time. Its definitely not your typical group ride and I like that.

If anyone wants more climbing at a decent pace--not race pace--I'm doing Santa Luz/Lusardi/Black Mtn. tonight about 7.
