Got the new toy today. The old FEDEX man was playing tricks with my mind.

Was in the garage with Lito tweaking on his SS and I hear a diesel pull up. Look out and it was FEDEX. All excited, I head to the truck and the driver steps out and says, "1927". Dang, it's for the next door neighbor. Around five or so a Budget Rental truck pulls up and I finally get my new toy!!

Still gonna be a couple weks before she's finished! :crying: Waiting on wheelset and fork and then comes all the small stuff. Can't wait.

Hey Larry I heard that RIPs don't do well on flat trails, you'll have to take it somewhere other than Otay Lakes
That's a beautiful frame

  Have to tag along with you at Sweetwater, I think you've been there a couple times!

Here's the build kit so far:

09 RIP 9 Medium
09 REBA Team Dual Air w/ maxle
Hope Pro 2 hubs laced to Stan's Flows
Formual Mega disc brakes
FSA headset - came free with frame

Still waiting on fork and wheelset. Gonna have to pick up a full drivetrain or steal parts from the single speed temporarily. Gotta order rear maxle kit from Niner. I'll add updates as parts trickle in.

Looks sweet! Hope mine comes out as good. What tires are those? Looks like an Ardent in the rear and a WTB ?? in front. I wanna try 2.4's front and back but don't know about the clearance. Have you tried this at all? Have any recommendations? I have been looking at the Ardents and Racing Ralphs, both in 2.4.

I'm running the Ardent 2.25 in the rear and WTB Weirwolf up front. The Ardent is the way to go. The Weirwolf has been working for me, but I just ordered the Ardent 2.4 front and will be giving it a try shortly. I've also run the Geax Seguaro(r) and Nevegals(f) combo on another hardtail 29er bike I had. That combo worked out really well for me.
