Riding a RIP9 for 2 years now, I'm still not sold on using a 9er for DH. Wheelset durability and tire selection are the biggest two limitiations right now. I'm having too much fun on my Nomad and that's only 6.3" of travel. I see they used a 150mm rear and TA front, similar to Lenz Lunchbox, so that's a good start. But find me a tire greater than a true 2.2" with some bite and thick sidewalls that won't get sliced open the first time down Bootleg.

Just to play the devils advocate, that bike is sportin' new WTB Kodiak DH 29er tires.

Nothing wrong with the flat bar. There are a ton of downhill racers that use low rise or flat bars to get the front low.

It's because Niner only makes a flat bar w/ their name on it.
