Im just wondering what your wifes reaction to the bike being on the counter? :D

Well I ride it in the house doing figure 8s around the kitchen island and living room. I have also had my bike on the couch next to me. So, the counter top isn't too crazy considering.

Took it up Otay Mountain today in the wind and rain. My bro and I were the only ones out except for some deer hunters. It was really windy! Despite the conditions, I chased my brother to the top in 1hr and 5mins (dog house junction), and we dropped down the east side a bit to go up a jeep trail to another peak, but it sounded like hunters were shooting at it. So, we decided to head down. I know it's just fire road, but I had a blast. When the weather is like this I'm thankful we have Otay Mountain.

Nice build! I've been thinking a lot about a 29r with a more slack head angle but was worried about the big front wheel kinda "flopping" from side to side like a chopper versus carving if that makes sense. Can't wait for the full ride review and maybe a comparison to any other 29rs you've had. Thanks.

I posted a review earlier on this thread. As to the wheel flip-flopping, it does do it slightly more than my Air 9 did at 80mm, but I only noticed it in the beginning and it was no big deal. The biggest difference is the front-center distance. The bike was built for descending, but handles steep technical climbs really well. It's truly an all-mountain bike that doesn't hurt your climbing ability.

You should read this article: http://spokemagazine.com/2011/08/30/chromag-go-big/

The Honzo was tested and designed in the same area by Trevor Porter and the Chromag is very similar to it. Kona even rode with the guys from Chromag, so that explains the similarities.

Beautiful bike!

Today's free tip:
To get your pic to show up in the first post, change the last part (with the [img] tags) to look like this:

[**img]http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6215/6337948649_b6fd59e3f4_b.jpg[/img]

(but remove the ** at the beginning)

It's too nice of a picture to not have it show up.
