Jeff, that was me. Good to see you online -- hook up with some great rides and riders on this site!

That ride was my last before an unexpected visit to the hospital and now I may not get to ride until November (with fingers crossed). I'm stoked that you got those reflectors off, too.

Hoo-Ha! First ride back is tomorrow and damn straight, I'm taking out the new SS! I'll skip the Poway trails and stick to mainstream PQ... can't wait to hit Bridges.

I am considering a switching to 17/32 gearing.

17 front, 32 rear. :D

I just picked up a 29er off craigslist and love it The frame's a 20" tho and I could use a 21". As an ex motocross guy and older than the hills to boot the 69er approach makes way more sense to me. The big wheel up front works awesome, the smaller rear offers a lower gear ratio. Hadn't crossed my mind there might be a measurable advantage by the larger contact patch the 29 could give in the rear.

The contact patch from the WTB Weirwolf 2.55 I've got back there is pretty big, I'll tell you what. The lugs are so shallow that I'm not sure it's worth it as a rear tire, though.

Hope you don't try to climb Cam ru with that. On my 26" ss w/ 36/19 gearing, it's a no-go. I make it to the halfway point on the cinderblocks (nice work, btw) and that's all she wrote.

Speakin' of Los Pen, I hope that new bridge at WW crossing didn't wash downstream last night. The wood structure part was unsecured , and only about a foot or so above the waterline. It rained pretty hard for a bit last night....and we know what that does to the "creek".

I also noticed that some genius equestrian put a hoof thru the bridge at Carson's...
