We were out in Escondido a few weeks ago and saw a group of hipsters on their fixies on Grand Ave just kinda circling around a mulling about.

i have been wanting one for a while so i could get a quick spin in and hopefully get more out of it. i don't know if that's happening, but i'm enjoying SS'ing, and my legs are almost always working uphill and down.

makes me want to put my SS mtb back together.

one huge benefit is you don't need a fancy hub that sounds like bees. engagement is always instant.
one huge downside is you can't coast *ever* and you can get your shit tossed if you're not thinking about that.

lived in da city for a long time. those guys are nucken futts!

what's spooky is that the go pro is super wide angle and makes close things seem further away. crazy too when you're there driving down the street (i had a motorcycle at the time- skooted traffic too) and these characters pass you or hang on for a drag, although they preferred busses.

there was a movie out a few months ago with nyc bike messengers as the main characters. pretty cool. braking is to stop peddling and drift.

standard 'jewelry' (as per rhs):
