I don't know if this is a good deal. My wife picked up a couple Green Flash Palate Wrecker at the Carlsbad Costco.

Costco in Mission Valley has these for $14.97. Three 750 ml bottles of Chimay at about $5.00 apiece -- that's a crazy good deal.

Si! Negra Modelo is my go-to beer at a Mexican restaurant. The pale canned Modelo, not so much. Tolerable for a desert thirst quencher. But the Negra is good.

Yeah, it's pretty good too, and I will definitely choose it over the Corona, Pacifico, Tecate, Dos Equis etc. But any of those is still better than no beer!

By the way, at lunch I just saw for the first time a Vietnamese beer called "33". Any one know if its any good?

I had "33" at a Vietnamese restaurant near my house -- "okay" is the best descriptor. Then again, anything tastes okay with a bahn mi.

well, it's not schlitz. but then what is?

it's a very nice beer. not hoppy. more of a lager in weight, but smooth, dark and fleshy.
