but I love the early morning. Woke up at 5:30 to get my parents down to the airport. It was good times playing DJ with my iPod watching my Dad get excited over random songs that he'd start singing and grooving to (he doesn't really dance). Dropped them off at the gate and then I changed the music score.


I rolled down the windows feeling the wind in my face as I drove the full sized pickup and felt so much more alive. I'm not meant to be in a Jetta. I then grabbed an egg mcmuffin on the way to Cabrillo monument to only find out it is closed until 9 am. Oh well, I drove around for a little while to find my fav local cliff jumping spot.


Backed the truck into a spot and sat looking over the water eating breakfast, drinking coffee, and listening to Black Label Society. The waves would roll in in the crisp morning. The music was on real quiet so I could still hear them crash onto the rocks.


After a good 20-30 mins I started to head back north to see the sun shining through the clouds over the mountains of east county. It was spectacular! I'll admit I was the idiot looking out my passenger window on the freeway to hold onto that glimpse as long as possible, but it completely worth it. The soft colors looked like an impressionist painting.


With a morning like that today should be a good day.

I get the same satisfaction when I get up early for my "dawn patrol" surf sessions. There's is definitely something magical and serene being out with nature during the mornings.

only thing i don't like about early mornings is the spider webs...
