This is Anini our 10 month old Shiba Inu. She's a ball of energy and loves to run and hike with us.

My wife and I have been taking her to Mission Trails so she can jog with my wife while I ride ahead. Her recall is not all that so we must always keep her leashed. Every Trail in SD requires leashes anyway so its all good. We fear snakes so she may be sticking to the beach and off trail the next few months.

Everybody's doggies are so adorable!!

Anini Dog ~ how is your Shiba Inu? I remember riding at Elfin and running into a jogger that had 2 Shiba Inus and all he could talk about was how they were such mean dogs and how they don't know how to get along with people or other dogs. They go to a support group of other Shiba Inu owners to commiserate and at each meetup, there always ends up being at least one fight between 2 of the dogs. He did not seem happy at all that his GF made him get a 2nd Shiba Inu.

lol we are memebers of that Shiba Group. And yeah we saw 2 Shibas throw down and get crazy, the owners are idiots.

Our Shiba is good natured and gets along well with other dogs and people.

My wife and I worked hard training and socializing early.. Socialization is the key with this breed. They are independent so people who own them need to be the alpha or else the Shiba will try and rule the house. Sadly more people are getting one because they look cute but have no clue how to properly train and socialize them.

Squeaky, a Baja Dogs rescue mutt. We're pretty sure he is a dog, but have considered maybe he's part chupacabra :)

Whatever he is, he's caught 2 rats, one gopher, a squirrel and 2 birds in our back yard so he's a keeper.
