Sorry for your loss. I understand all too well what you feel. The pan will fade, but the sense of loss I don't think ever leaves.

It's been a little more than a year since I lost my Ridgeback, Hobie.
The pain and sorrow is still there, at time it deep as it was the day I lost him.
Mostly though it's lessened.

The sense loss remains, I miss him every day.

I hope you find peace over time.

Almost a DT dog...my brother's dog Jake, previously posted with a beer. Can't believe I forgot to take a photo of him showing off by jumping through a hoop.

How about non-water dogs that don't believe it?

Haven't been riding as much as I would like recently due to this guy, Rigby.

Image

My life is centered on getting him exercised to avoid this.

Image

Anyways. I've ridden Noble too many times to count from every which way (shuttles from WHs, PPs... and earned my fun from the bottom and even 79); however, I've never ventured out on the other side of the Sunrise Hwy (PCT: no bikes, no fun). Rigby has been acting out when on lead recently so I've been seeking out hikes without a lot of other dogs and figured it'd be great to go check out Garnet Peak. Drove out 8 in a thick soup of clouds, broke through right as we topped out on Sunrise Hwy and started hiking in a swirl of sun and thick clouds. Super cool atmosphere.

It wasn't raining but it was wet, and wonderfully cool (high 50's) as you can see from my hair in this pic from the top.

Image

Rigby passed out shortly after getting in the car so I took a run out towards Lake Cuyamaca. Weather meant the roads were clear for some fun canyon carving.

Image

All in all a good morning.
