if you find the halti isn't working for you, i've been using the easy walk harness for a while now, and it's been great.

That's what we use with our 90+lbs. dog and it works great. When he was younger and would pull on the leash, even my wife could control him -- the harder he'd pull on it, the more it would spin him around.
