I just stick a new registration tag on my car last weekend and someone rip it off, I found out with a ticket a little while for $25 while park outside work, what I hate the most is having to go to the DMV

Jose,

They take them and put on cars that can't pass smog or people that have no valid license or no proof of insurance as you know.

Once you stick them on, use a razor blade and cut small lines on it. This way, they can't take the whole thing.

I will never step into DMV without an appointment.

Any local rides this long weekend? Get creative and come up with something.

Ali

I used to cut the tags all the time, I guess you can't trust anyone no days, I'm sure it happened at work, tough area.
No local rides this weekend, I'm burning all my kitchen pass tomorrow.

Probably the stack of stickers were too thick, they end up taking the whole thing. Bummer.

What do you mean by burning you passes? Don't tell me that you are going to quit biking. What's the deal?

And tell me about your new do it all build I saw the other day.

When will it be on the trails?

+1 on the razor blade thing.

Carve that sticker up and they won't bother stealing it. 3-4 slices all the way across both vertically and horizontally should do it. Even if they don't notice and attempt to peel it off, once they get just that one corner they'll give up and move on to another car.

The ticket can easily be challenged in court if you choose to do so. The DMV has a record of you registering the vehicle and issuing a sticker (they all have serial numbers on them).

BTW, I could *really* use a 2010 sticker to cover up the 2008 I have on one of my cars. Let me know when you get it replaced and where you usually park.

Got the same ticket today, FYI, the ticket is only 10.00 if you send in proof if it being fixed (directions on the back of the ticket)

Yup, lets say I've forgotten to put the sticker on before, once or thrice (doesn't help to park in an area where they hand out tix like candy on halloween) .
