Got a nice homemade card, a box of See's dark chocolate covered almonds, and a half day to do nothing but sit in the recliner and let the bones heal while the wife handled both kids at Legoland.

I got up early and went to my son's flag-raising ceremony at the Del Mar Fair (call it what you want), then did all the fair things. Rides, animals, slot car racing, giant spicy corn dog, smoked turkey leg and a cold Heineken with another Cub Scout dad while we discussed the fact that I had an unridden, new bike sitting in my shed while I spent the day at the Fair. These are the burdens Fathers bear, ha ha!! No problem, time flies.

Belated happy Fathers Day to you Dads. Here's hoping your kids can ride the trails you love, someday.
