I've got a hall pass/ Golden ticket to go riding on two weekends.
4/2-5 and 4/23-26
Wanting to ride Gold Canyon AZ.(and other local spots) and St. George/ Hurricane areas but not too sure which one will be better to ride first. Wondering if I should head to AZ first to so it won't be too hot and the next trip head to Utah.
What are your thoughts and experiences weather wise this time of year?

I don't have the "right" answer because there isn't one. I've been to Hurricane (4) times in May. It's been in the 60's twice, the 80's once and one trip it snowed on us. I'm looking to go back this May. I just returned from Tucson today. It was 80-82 on thursday, friday & saturday and low 60's and rain today. If I was to guess, I'd say go to AZ first. After going to Gold Canyon, make sure to eat at Handlebars in nearby Apache Junction...great food and adult beverages.

Based on typical weather I’d do Phx first as well. Keep the other in mind as a plan B.

Thanks guys. looking at Weather.com last night it seems to say historically AZ will be a bit hotter but you never know. I'm really flexible for last minute changes as needed.

The other benefit to waiting until the last minute is sometimes you can score crazy deals on lodging rental sites. In 2108, we went to Hurricane in late January but we didn't book lodging until (2) days before our trip because we wanted to make sure the weather was going to be favorable. I ended up getting a two bedroom condo for NINE DOLLARS per night so $27 for (3) nights. Admittedly, there was a $100 cleaning fee so $127 total for (3) nights in a 2 bedroom condo at the base of Zen in St George. Score!!

^^^^ That's a killer deal. I've got a bunch of free hotel nights at Hilton chain hotels so the room cost aren't a bigger at most places. I noticed that there isn't any near Big Bear or Kernville though so your plan will be worth looking into

You like it hot so you will enjoy the ride any time. Arizona first then Utah. BYOB for Utah just a little reminder, more important than stans.
