So, I know there are a few hockey fans here.

How did your team make out on deadline day?

My team, the Flames, cleaned up - acquiring Olli Jokinen from Phoenix and re-acquiring Jordan Leopold from Colorado. Their top 6 forwards are looking great now:

Cammalleri - Jokinen - Iginla
Bourque - Langkow - Bertuzzi

Their D look good too -

Phaneuf - Sarich
Regher - Leopold
Aucoin - Giordano

If they can make it through their bout of injuries they will be able to challenge Detroit and San jose in the playoffs.

I stopped paying attention after the lockout in 2004-05. I am one of those fans that never really came back. But when I do pay attention I am a Flyers fan, Broad Street Bullies till the end.

I haven't been paying attention. It seems like cable tv has forgotten about hockey. I rarely catch a game -- and then I rarely catch one I'm interested in.

Just to demonstrate how involved I've been lately: "wow, nhl.com got a facelift! nice."

I used to be a big King's fan, but they suck so bad that I've just lost all interest in them over the last 2 years. I saw a game on TV the other night and barely recognized anyone. Yawn.

I used to play hockey for many years, but quit when I started getting hurt a lot. After turning 40, hockey really hurts! Now that I'm not playing, I just cannot get excited about watching it anymore. MTB is where it's at! :bang:

This is becuse of that lockout, they had a huge deal with I think NBC and ESPN at the time. They had games on the weekend and ESPN games during the week. When the lockout happened they lost the deals and there went the fans. To overcome this the NHL changed the rules of the game to make it more exciting and more like europen hockey, but unless you were a die hard fan you never even noticed. Damn I miss watching hockey.

I'm still a hockey fan, I'll every game that I can. The NHL gamecenter is great, but between work and school, I have to watch the archive games. As for the trades my team (Jackets) got decent center (Vermette) but for the cost of a better goalie (Leclaire).
