Camped up there on Friday night under the stars and clear sky. I knew there was the storm coming so we cut it short by a day. Saturday morning was cool (38) but clear. It warmed up nicely and we got some brush clearing done on the connector between BLT and Penny Pines TH. While the weather had already turned in SD proper, the weather on the Mtn was beautiful.

All of a sudden it changed in a flash, temp dropped by 20 degrees and the visibly was obliterated by the clouds. Jetted back to camp, broke it down, ate a quick lunch and bailed. The entire trip down Sunrise was limited visibility, maybe 50-100 feet. Only rain at that point but the Mtn really took a hit early Sunday am.

If I didn't have to be here at work today, I would have stayed for the snow camp. Just didn't want o chance hauling a trailer down the Mtn in slippery conditions.

Sorry for the mondo huge pictures. Borrowed from Tom Cooks FB page.

Nicely done. Getting caught in a storm makes for a good epic story, but all things considered, I prefer the feeling of getting the ride or work done, and getting out of Dodge just in time.
