Post up those Christmas goodies -- bike related or not.

My best present was a new cell phone. An LG enV2. :bang:

Well, I cheated and got myself a killer gift back in June. Aside from that, I got some clothes and a nice air compressor to blow those tubeless tires up nice and quick.

A lot more than I expected...
....I had been planning on riding my perfectly adequate five year old bike for a few more years with occasional tweaks and upgrades and my family knew that. My wife warned me she'd been "bad" this year and I should not look at the Christmas bills. So I thought that meant I might get lucky and get the new bike shoes, or maybe even the HID light on my list, which would be really stretching the budget, as we spend a lot on the kids. I have a standing list on the computer for the last few years for birthdays, father's day, and Christmas, starting at CDs and socks for a few bucks and, just for fun, ending with a Turner 5-Spot at $4500. A few weeks ago I saw an '08 Trance X0 on sale for $2999 at my LBS and threw it on the list for grins. So after all the unwrapping this morning, I say to my wife "well, that wasn't so bad hon" and my daughter says "Dad, will you grab my camera outta my bedroom?". I walk in, and they tell me they heard a real loud "What the f**k!!?" from me! Cause there sat that Trance. And it was beautiful. All shiny aluminum and a red bow. My wife said, "You can take me back, but you can't take that bike back". And then she proceeded to read the most beautiful card about why I deserved it, that had the entire family crying. She had consulted her best friends and they agreed she should get it for me. Wow. So I'm keeping it. I have a great family.

Happy New Year and Happy Trails
