Up for sale is a Large 2006 Santa Cruz Chameleon that I custom polished, by hand, yes really. I also removed the V-brake tabs, and no this did not cause any harm to the structural integrity of the frame, it was purely for aesthetics. I am unsure of the total miles on the frame but I know there are plenty of miles left in it. I love this frame, evidenced by the amount of time I put into refinishing it, I am just not going to build it back up(due to having an RFX and a new 29'er SS) and it deserves to be ridden. This frame is capable of just about anything, SS, XC, AM, DJ, and light FR. The first pics are what it look like now. The last picture is to give you an idea of the shape it was in prior to refinishing. There is only one very small ding on top of the driveside chainstay(you can barely see it in the pics), other than that the frame looks brand new. Frame does not come with decals but does include drop out inserts with derailleur hanger and seatpost clamp. Since it is a frame and shipping could be a hassle I would prefer to stay somewhat local but would be willing to ship if absolutely necessary. There is currently a black Chris King headset installed that can be had for an additional $70(does not include crown race).

Frame: Sold

Sorry, it's true. I am just never going to ride it, and this bike kicks way too much ass to just hang in my garage.

Would it be a good idea to run this 100mm forks..?

I am 6' even and it fits me, it's just a little on the small side. A lot of SC bikes run small. You can definitely run this with a 100mm fork, I personally ran it with both a 130mm and 140mm and it was great for rougher stuff(although fork travel does not limit you). It would be great for XC or DJ with a 100mm fork on it. Check out the set up thread on MTBR to see all the different ways people have set theirs up.

Thanks for the info.

I am looking to transfer the stuff from my old frame and it looks like this will be perfect.

Let me crunch some numbers and see if I can swing it after the bills are paid.
