Looking for a fork for my buddy's old Gary Fischer.

1-1/8 steerer with at least 8".
QR drop outs with disc tabs
Spring type with functioning rebound adjustment
Any other feature would be a bonus but not needed.

Cheaper the better since I'm doing this pro-bono. His divorce proceedings left him with a 1999 corolla and the clothes on his back.

I just threw a 2005 era "Axel" fork in the trash this morning. It came stock on my Giant Ranier mountain bike and was quickly replaced with a Reba. I was doing a shop cleanup and just got sick of seeing this occupy space and chucked it out. I could dig it out and give it too you for free if you wish. It has an awesome pogo-stick effect that makes climbing uphill almost impossible. But it is a very basic fork with zero rebound control at all.

Thanks bro, but I need at least rebound. He's a good buddy who really isn't bike savvy, but he is pretty fit. I totally see him riding this thing everywhere and jumping curbs and stuff.

Cool. It's going back into the trash can for pickup tomorrow. Even the worst rigid fork is better than this pogo stick.
